Top chef Alain Ducasse using Rombouts espresso pods in three star Michelin restaurants?

Zinzino claims that Rombouts coffee is used by exclusive cafes and restaurants and also by royalties. If these claims are true, anyone who tried pods coffee should be in serious doubt that they use espresso pods. They would use whole beans, and guess what? Those beans are excluded from the assortment. Why? Obviously whole beans don’t fit the idea to make the customer dependent on buying from Zinzino.

So what about this often held up claim that a three Michelin star restaurant in Monaco uses 500 000 Rombouts/Malongo pods every year? First of all, the restaurant that is claimed to have three Michelin stars, Cafe de Paris, has ZERO Michelin stars. The only three Michelin star restaurant in Monaco is Louis XV. That is a Alain Ducasse restaurant for sure, but what about Cafe de Paris?

And to make a comparison between the two, lunch is 140 EUR at Louis XV and 35 EUR at Cafe de Paris. So, how exclusive is this Cafe de Paris if lunch is 35 EUR? It is not very cheap, but in Sweden you can easily find not very good restaurants charging that for a lunch. Even more so in Norway of course. Still, if you check the link, the commentators complain about high prices at Cafe de Paris, indicating the food doesn’t even hold up to the 35 EUR standard.  People go there for the setting and Casino de Paris.

So, if Cafe de Paris uses espresso pods you shouldn’t be surprised. There are restaurants in Sweden having the same prices and serving dry-freezed coffee. But the Zinzino claims are just wrong, no three star Michelin restaurant would use pods.

Louis XV is number 12 and Cafe de Paris number 15:

I dont know what you’re aiming at , thats the whole point with pods!? If they use Malongos beans it’s nice but the whole idea with nespresso, dolce gusto, tassimo, zinzino are the pod machines for people who want to do a espresso whitout buying/grinding beans and clean it up afterwords! I’m a coffee nerd and i had beans and a grinder, too much work for a coffee! Still a Malongo pod-espresso is much better than a espresso in Stockholm at: Espressohouse, Waynes coffee, Coffeehouse by George and guess what they use whole beans!!!!!

But the royalties and three star michelin restaurants would use baristas.

Those cafes are not about espresso they are about coffee drinks and to be social with your friends.

A 1000 EUR automatic grinding espresso machine makes better espresso that those 60 EUR plastic ones you use. And it is cheaper in the long run.

Not to mention real espresso machines.

The point is that Zinzino claims are distorted and misleading.

You dont listen at all! I have served many friends the Malongo pod, Italian style pod not grinded beans!!!!!
done as a Corttado & we all agree, it’s fantastic!!!!
you dont get a better coffee than that at big coffee chains in Stockholm and they use whole beans and expensive big machines and never the less they stand no chance!!!!
There is 2-3 small cafés, like i said earlier that can match R/M pod coffee.

That is anecdotal evidence and BTW the Danish barista doesn’t agree…

And no one claims the coffee is bad. It is Zinzino that is fraudulent.

Just wonder when are you starting the sites: Unilevertruth & Nestletruth 😉 then you have a real mission for life! For me this Zinzino stuff gets a bit redicalous. I wrote a bit cause it’s fun……. But go for the other ones then i will follow your blog. Otherwise you’ll be only like a parrott, Polly want’s a cracker!!!!
Go for the big ones instead! I mean unilever for real kills people, with toxic fats!!!!! Is’nt that more interesting reading about!

Where does Zinzino claim that Café de Paris is three star? I can’t find it anywhere.
